Troy Dale West Accused in Cracker Barrel Beating in Court:
Jury selection is underway in the trial of a Georgia man accused of beating up an Army reservist in front of her young daughter.
Troy Dale West allegedly attacked reservist Tasha Hill at a Clayton County Cracker Barrel in September 2009.
Hill says she asked West to be careful because he almost hit her daughter with the restaurant's front door.
According to prosecutors, West responded by kicking, punching and shouting vulgar and racial insults at Hill.
Prior to the selection of the jury, the judge denied a change of venue motion put forward by the defense because of pretrial publicity. West's attoey plans to argue that Hill spit on him.
West is charged with aggravated assault, false imprisonment, cruelty to children, battery and disorderly conduct.
