Triple Shooting Suspect Paul Buchannon in Tennessee Hospital

A murder suspect is in a Tennessee hospital following a triple shooting and manhunt that started in Gordon County.

Police say 38-year old Paul Buchannon shot and wounded his ex-girlfriend's two teenage sons at their home near Resaca Thursday night after she refused to leave with him. One of the teens was shot in the leg, the other in the neck.

They say Buchannon then abducted the woman and shot and killed her in Hill City near Whitfield county, leaving her body at some nearby railroad tracks. Authorities say she was shot in the head.

Cops say they coered Buchannon and when he pulled out a gun they opened fire.

"Soon after the suspect was located lying behind a log, officers ordered him to show them his hands. At that time he drew his weapon and that's when when officers retued fire, wounding him," said Gordon County Sheriff Mitch Ralston.

Buchannon was transported to Erlanger Hospital in Tennessee. He is reportedly in critical condition.

The woman's two sons are recovering at hospitals in Gordon County.
