The sweet reason that today is National Pie Day
What pie will you eat to celebrate today?

Does pie need a public relations campaign? It's pretty damn popular. Nonetheless, today has officially been dubbed National Pie Day by none other than the National Pie Council.

If you've been wondering how American apple pie really is (more than 36 million identify it as their favorite) or are looking for other well-rounded facts (Boston cream pie is a cake, not a pie), the NPC is your go-to-source. (We'd love to see their break room.)

Why did they establish 1/23 as National Pie Day, especially when National Pie Month is in October? The pie experts say, "Because celebrating the wholesome goodness of pie is as easy as 1-2-3."
