If new scientific research is to be believed, taking pictures could hold the key to happiness.

The research, which had over 2000 people taking place in experiments, says that taking photo of events will actually help us enjoy them even more.

The people taking part were put different experiments. They were instructed to either take photos or not and complete a survey on how much fun they had during each task. The results of the study, published in the Joual of Personality and Social Psychology, showed that those that took photos of the experiences reported feeling more engaged in the activity. The team also found that the results work the other way. Taking a photo of a negative experience can heighten the unhappiness experienced.

Kristin Diehl, a researcher from The University of South Califoia who took place in the research said that 'We show that, relative to not taking photos, photography can heighten enjoyment of positive experiences by increasing engagement.”
