PICKENS COUNTY, Ga. - Sheriff's deputies say a 17-year-old has been arrested and charged as an adult after he tried to hire someone to kill two people in Pickens County.

Deputies said they received a tip that Morgan Miles Morris was attempting to hire a hit man, so they arranged for an undercover law enforcement officer to meet with the teen. Morris offered to pay the undercover officer to kill two people and provided information on how to carry out the murder, authorities say.

Investigators executed a search warrant of Morris’ home and found evidence backing up the plot.

The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office contacted the potential victims and made them aware of the situation.

Deputies arrested Morris on Wednesday. He was denied bond.
