An 18-year-old was arrested in a robbery at a McDonough Waffle House restaurant early Thursday.

The robbery happened at a Waffle House on Jonesboro Road at 2:45 a.m.

Two armed men cloaked in hooded sweatshirts and bandannas walked into the restaurant demanding money while customers were inside, according to a police report. The report said they stole money and took off in an awaiting SUV.

Shortly after the getaway, a Henry County police officer spotted the car in the Wesley Lakes subdivision, police said. The officer pulled over the car, which had two men inside, police said. They said a vehicle search revealed the stolen money, a stolen shotgun, a mask and a plastic toy gun.

Joseph Wilson, 18, was charged with armed robbery and false imprisonment.
