Teen Dequavious Stephon Mapp Dies After Being Shot At Conyers House Party
CONYERS, Ga. - Three people faced a judge in a Rockdale County court Monday after a shooting death at a local house party.
For the second time in a week, an Atlanta area teenager has been killed at a house party.
High school senior Dequavious Stephon Mapp -- 18-years-old -- was fatally shot and two other teens were injured in a shooting that happened early Sunday in Conyers. Sandra Snow says that her son was shot and later died at Atlanta Medical Center.
Seventeen-year old James Edwards and Tevin Williams face aggravated assault and weapons charges in connection with the shooting. The man who hosted the house party -- Javoye Jones -- is facing charges of maintaining a disorderly house.
Investigators say there were about 75 people at the home late Saturday and party goers were charged $3 to get in.
The shooting comes a week after 18-year-old Bobby Tillman was stomped, kicked and punched to death at a house party in Douglas County. Four men have been charged with murder in Tillman's death.
