Teen Dakota Wilson Killed Trying to Cross Braselton Highway

DACULA, Ga. - A teenager is dead after trying to cross a busy highway Friday evening.

Gwinnett County police report Dakota Wilson, 13 of Aubu, was trying to cross Braselton Highway near Jim Moore Road around 8:15 p.m. Friday when he was struck by a Chevy Suburban driven by Kevin Sanders, 23 of Cumming. Wilson was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Sanders was not cited and police said they are not anticipating any charges to be filed. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in this accident.
