An 18 year old suffered serious injuries in a hit and run crash in Smya early Saturday moing, according to police.

Family members say Alex Langford and three others were in a car that stopped on Cobb Parkway to help a dog that was in the road. After Langford got out, police say an older model Chevrolet Camaro or similar vehicle hit the stopped car. The driver of that vehicle then drove away from the scene, running into Langford. She was taken to Grady Hospital with serious head and leg injuries.

The crash happened just before 12:30a.m. near the Inteational House of Pancakes at 2350 Cobb Parkway.

Police are asking for help to locate the hit and run vehicle, which likely has serious damage to its left side and front end. Anyone with information is asked to call Smya Police at (770) 434-6666 or (770) 434-9481.
