A Taser-wielding Atlanta mall cop who gained worldwide fame attention for his strong-armed style has been arrested after a dispute, according to police.

 

Atlanta police say that Darien Long was arrested on Thursday after allegedly tackling a Metro Mall occupant. Long claimed that the victim had been previously waed not to retu to the mall, according to Officer John Chafee of the Atlanta Police Department. However, police said that Long could not produce anything to back up his claim.

 

Authorities said that video from the mall showed Long run up to the side of the victim and tackle him to the ground.

 

Long became known inteationally after videos of him Tasing people he deemed out of control went viral on the inteet.

 

Police say Long is charged with battery and was transported to Fulton County Jail. His first court appearance is expected to start at 9 a.m. on Friday.
