Three people were injured in a condo fire that destroyed eight units Friday moing.

The fire at the Tamarack Condos on Blazing Pine Knoll off Flat Shoals Parkway was reported just before 5 a.m.

When firefighters arrived, flames were shooting from the roof of the building, the DeKalb County Fire Department said.

One woman suffered a major cut from her shoulder to her arm as well as cuts to her legs when she jumped out a second-floorwindow.

A man and a 9-year-old suffered minor bus and smoke inhalation.

The Red Cross is assisting the displaced families.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
