Atlanta police have made an arrest in the shooting death of a Rex man a month ago at Underground Atlanta.

Demons Hambrick, 30, was shot several times in the back on May 6 after getting into a brief dispute near the intersection of Peachtree and Alabama streets. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he later died.

The following week, police secured an arrest warrant for Deronta Desean Leeks, charging him with murder.

Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones told the AJC Tuesday that Leeks was arrested on May 20 in North Carolina by Charlotte-Mecklenburg police and the FBI.

Leeks, 18, was extradited to Atlanta, and booked into the Fulton County Jail on Monday. He is being held without bond
