Sources: Bishop Eddie Long Case Close To Resolution

ATLANTA -- GA Daily News has leaed there could be a resolution soon in the sexual misconduct civil case against New Birth Missionary Baptist Church Bishop Eddie Long.

Four former members of the church have filed lawsuits against the bishop, his youth academy and the church alleging Long used his position to coerce them into sex.

Sources told Channel 2 that court-ordered mediation sessions in the case are close to an agreement.

The sessions were suggested because some involved in the case didn't want negotiations to drag on past Easter.

Sources told GA Daily News that there was one major obstacle preventing a resolution to the case, but now that appears to have been settled.

The sources said mediation will continue as all sides try to resolve the few remaining issues.
