Son-In-Law Ben Thomas Abbott Charged With Killing In-Laws in Home Invasion
PICKENS COUNTY, Ga. - Authorities in Pickens County say two people are dead following a home invasion early Wednesday moing.
Pickens County Sheriff Donnie Craig says the sheriff's office responded to a home invasion on Longswamp Church Road around 12:25 a.m.
Craig says that when units arrived, they found a woman dead on the scene from apparent gunshot wounds. Her husband was also shot multiple times and was transported to Kennestone Hospital in Kennesaw.
The man was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Pickens County Sheriff's Office identified the victims as Raymond Campbell, 55, and Cynthia Campbell, 53.
Authorities arrested Ben Thomas Abbott, the son-in-law of both victims, and has been charged with two counts of Murder.
Detectives from the sheriff's office are working with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in the case.
