Smyrna Man Alex Hernandez Killed in Early Morning Stabbing at Marietta Mobile Home Park; Suspect Arrested
COBB COUNTY, Ga. – A Smyrna man was killed in an early morning stabbing Sunday at a Marietta-area mobile home park, and a suspect has been arrested, according to Cobb County police.
Officers were dispatched around 1:34 a.m. on Feb. 22 to Eden Gate Mobile Home Park, located at 254 Clay Drive, after a 911 caller reported a stabbing.
When officers arrived, they found an adult man lying on the ground near one of the homes with a stab wound.
Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services rendered aid at the scene before the victim was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. He later died from his injuries.
Authorities identified the victim as 31-year-old Alex Hernandez of Smyrna.
Investigators with the Major Crimes Unit later identified 31-year-old Pedro De Jesus Gonzalez Martinez as the suspect in the case. He has been charged with murder and aggravated assault and was booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
The investigation remains active.
