Shahriar Zolfaghari: Husband of Georgia assistant attorney general found dead
Police say the husband of Georgia Assistant Attoey General Camila Wright, has been shot dead.
Shahriar Zolfaghari, 36, a Lyft driver, was working the night of his death. Investigators are trying to determine if he picked up a fare prior to the shooting. Zolfaghari was shot in the chest twice inside of his car while waiting for a traffic light near downtown Atlanta early Wednesday moing.
Police responded to a 911 call about an unresponsive driver at the intersection of Rankin Street and Boulevard NE around 1:15 a.m. The call was made after a driver behind Zolfaghari got out to check on him, saw blood and realized Zolfaghari had been shot. He was rushed to Atlanta Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Police say Zolfaghari was a Lyft driver and they are trying to determine if he picked up a fare prior to the shooting.
Atlanta Police Major Adam Lee say there were no signs of robbery and Zolfaghari had been shot at close range. No drugs or alcohol was found inside the vehicle.
There are no suspects in custody.

Attoey General Sam Olens released this statement regarding the case:
”We at the Attoey General’s office are heartbroken by the tragic loss of Camila’s husband. Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.
A spokesperson for Lyft, Alexandra LaManna issued this statement regarding the killing of Zolfaghari:
"Our heartfelt sympathies are with the family and loved ones of Shahriar Zolfaghari. Lyft has been working closely with law enforcement and will continue to assist their investigation."
