WITH her head-tuing looks, foreign accent and larger than life personality, Mexican reporter Ines Sainz is grabbing as much attention as the players during Super Bowl week.

'Ines Sainz ... is the queen of Super Bowl media day,' says NFL columnist Mike Freeman.

'She walks into the Media Day and everything stops.

'She's become almost like this celebrity, this star.'

Sainz, a 36-year television reporter for Azteca Deportes, started out modelling but discovered 'I like to express myself in front of the cameras'.

She also decided to become a sports joualist after noticing no women were doing it in Mexico.

'I saw that no other woman in Mexico was in the sports area so I say, ‘If the woman love the sports, why are they not talking about sport?

'It was the moment I decided I will be the first to be in front of the camera, surrounded by men and talking about sports.

Sainz is an NFL fan, growing up watching the San Francisco 49ers and their legendary quarterback Joe Montana.

'I fell in love with the sport.'

As for media day, Sainz admits she makes a big effort to be noticed.

'NFL media day is very special. You need to prepare in all the ways you can,' says Sainz, who raised eyebrows with her super tight jeans in one appearance.

'You want to look pretty and the cameras and the flashers are not just going to be with the players [but] as well with you.

'Ultimately I catch the attention because I am very different to the rest.'

Freeman added: 'The players will be on the podium giving interviews and they'll kind of pause a little bit to look at her, you'll see crowds forming around her.

'She draws as much attention as the players do — that's how big her presence is.'
