Santa Hat-Wearing Tree Chopper Swings Hatchet At Students

ATLANTA -- Georgia Tech police are on the lookout for a Santa-hat-wearing perpetrator who swung a hatchet at some students, according to the Georgia Tech police website.

It happened when two students at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Frateity house heard a chopping noise coming from the back yard of their house. When the students went outside, they saw a man with a hatchet chopping down a tree.

Police said the man swung the hatchet at one of the students, but missed, when they confronted him. The students told police the man appeared to be intoxicated.

He was described as a white man, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, between 18 and 20 years old. He was wearing a dark jacket, blue jeans and a red Santa hat.
