Russell County woman Krystal Brown drowns trying to save her three-year-old son
A mother and her 11-month-old son drowned during a family fishing trip after she ran into the river with the baby in her arms while trying to save her three-year-old son - who is currently in critical condition in hospital.
Krystal Brown, 30, and her baby son Mister Brown, from Russell County, Georgia, were at Chattahoochee River on Sunday when her three-year-old son Davie wandered into the water.
When she saw her son, Krystal waded in after him but all three pulled under the water by the strong currents.
Krystal and Mister were later recovered by divers from the Columbus Fire Department and pronounced dead at the scene.

Grandfather of the children Davie Brown told WTVM.com the family are hoping and praying this three-year-old grandson makes a full recovery as the family mou for the loss of their other loved ones.
He said the mother and her two sons were trying to fight the swift currents of the river as her husband jumped in to try and save them.
Speaking about three-year-old Davie, who is recovering in Egleston's Children's hospital, he said: 'I'm trusting God that he will revive my grandson and that he will give him the opportunity to live on a little while longer.
A drop-off in the water, about 15 feet deep, is believed to have caused the victims to go under water, according to police.
Columbus Fire Marshall Ricky Shores told WTVM about the rescue attempt of the mother and children.
'The divers were able to locate the victims within two minutes of hitting the water so we were very fortunate in that respect however, they were underwater for approximately 30 minutes,' he said.
