Russell County Man Guy Baker Sentenced To Life On Sex Charges
PHENIX CITY, Ala. -- A Russell County man was sentenced to life in prison on charges he held his girlfriend hostage and tortured her for weeks.
An Alabama jury on Friday convicted 48-year-old Guy Baker of rape, kidnapping, sexual torture, sexual abuse and sodomy charges. Authorities say he convinced his 60-year-old girlfriend to move into his house and then held her captive for two-and-a-half weeks.
They say he locked the two inside his bedroom with a screw gun, and gave her an eight-gallon bucket if she needed to go to the bathroom. She was only able to escape on a night when Baker fell asleep and forgot to screw the bedroom door shut.
Baker was already a registered sex offender who was previously convicted of raping an 11-year-old.
