Roswell police have made an arrest in a shooting that left two people dead Thursday.

Police arrested Stephen Oliver Heller, 31, on two homicide charges.

The shooting happened just before 3 p.m. on Lynwood Drive inside the Lynwood Place subdivision in Roswell.

Two victims were found inside a Mazda SUV. The Fulton County medical examiner identified them as Nicholas Abry and Spencer Long, both 20-years-old. According to police, Long was visiting Abry, who lived in the home.

Shortly after police were called about the shooting, several people called 911 to report a reckless driver on Marietta Highway, near Coleman Road. The car was similar to the description of the one driven by the shooter, a charcoal colored Audi sedan.

Police located the car and the driver, identified as Heller, in the Kroger Parking lot on Marietta Highway. Heller was arrested on a suspended license charge as police investigated, eventually obtaining to homicide warrants.

Neighbors in the subdivision said they are in shock.

”It’s terrifying. It’s very alarming. It’s really unfortunate. This is a really lovely area filled with families.  It’s really unnerving to have something like this to happen, one neighbor said.

”Everyone I'm talking to, all my neighbors and everyone we're all just kind of looking at each other and going this is just horrible, said neighbor Andy Monahan.

Witnesses said they heard about five gunshots. There was a bullet hole on the driver's side door and the passenger side window was shot out.

”The passenger side of the Mazda was against the curb so it's likely that the perpetrator would have to get out of the car to go around on the sidewalk side, said Frommer.

Investigators served a search warrant on the home within hours of the shooting, taking out bag after bag of evidence. K-9’s also canvassed the property.

Heller is being held at the Roswell Detention Center until he is moved to the Fulton County Jail.

Police believe Heller acted alone and was motivated by a money dispute.
