FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. — A Fayetteville armed robbery suspect was arrested Sunday after leading police on a high-speed chase that ended in Peachtree City, authorities said.

Deputies responded Feb. 8 to a reported robbery at the Amoco gas station on Highway 85 South, Fayette County Sheriff’s Office officials said. By the time officers arrived, the suspect had fled the scene.

Surveillance footage helped investigators identify the vehicle involved, and Peachtree City police located it traveling on Highways 74 and 54. A pursuit ensued and concluded near Dividend Road and Paschall Road.

The suspect, 23-year-old Kenny Richards, was taken into custody without further incident, sheriff’s officials said. Richards was booked into the Fayette County Jail on charges that include armed robbery, three counts of aggravated assault, felony possession of a firearm and misdemeanor possession of marijuana, as well as a misdemeanor parking violation for parking in a handicap space.

No injuries were reported during the chase, and authorities did not release additional details about possible victims or damage.
