Robbers Tie Up Teen, Point Gun At Child In Atlanta Home Invasion
ATLANTA -- Police are looking for a group of men they say tied up a family inside their home and held a gun to a child’s head.
It happened at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday on Oldknow Drive.
Investigators said the group of men walked up to the father as he arrived home, jumped him, pushed him to the ground and went into the home through the garage.
While inside, officers said the invaders tied up the man’s teenage son and at one point held a gun to his 9-year-old daughter’s head.
”I was in my window. They were hollering, saying 'Help, please help me! help me!' Dorothy Collier told Channel 2’s Amy Napier Viteri.
Investigators said at some point the mother escaped and ran outside yelling for someone to call police.
”I could tell it was a lady running and she was just screaming. They were just screaming, ‘Please help me, please help me!’
Police said the men left without physically hurting anyone.
Investigators said the group took $400 and a cell phone.
”You’re going to go through almost losing your life for a cellphone and $400? There’s something wrong with you, another neighbor said, who did not want to be identified.
The neighbor told Napier Viteri she is sure somebody in the neighborhood knows something about the men who did this.
”What I would like to see happen (is) more people looking out for each other. Just if you see something suspicious, you need to let somebody know, Collier said.
