Clayton County Teens Christopher Andrews and Samyah Copeland found dead in Murder-Suicide

According to Sgt. Ashanti Marbury, police got a call around 8:30 Monday night after a family member found 15-year-old Christopher Andrews and 16-year-old Samyah Copeland deceased inside of a home on Montego Circle.

"It appears that the male subject shot and killed the female before shooting himself. Motive for the incident is still undetermined and under investigation," Mabury said. Autopsy and toxicology results for the teens are still pending.

Officials said the teens appeared to have suffered from multiple gunshot wounds, though investigators are not sure what type of gun was used in the incident. How the gun was obtained is also still under investigation.

Copeland's family members said Andrews was her on-again, off-again boyfriend and described their relationship as "rocky." Copeland's family said the teen had just started dating someone else.

Both victims attended Riverdale High School, where grief counselors were on campus Tuesday to help students and staff mouing the loss of the two teens.

Investigators are hoping autopsies will help answer more questions.
