Randy King guilty on all counts in 2023 Buckhead valet killing
ATLANTA — A Fulton County jury has found a man guilty on all counts in the 2023 shooting death of a valet worker in Buckhead, bringing a close to a case that drew widespread attention in one of Atlanta’s busiest nightlife districts.
Jurors convicted Randy King of murder and related charges in the fatal shooting of a valet attendant outside a Buckhead business in 2023. Prosecutors said the victim was working when a dispute escalated, ending in gunfire.
Authorities said officers responded to reports of a shooting in the Buckhead area and found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
During the trial, prosecutors presented surveillance video, witness testimony and forensic evidence they said tied King to the shooting. The defense challenged portions of the state’s case, but jurors ultimately returned guilty verdicts on all counts.

The killing heightened concerns about violent crime in Buckhead, a commercial and entertainment hub known for its restaurants, bars and high-end retail. Community leaders at the time called for increased safety measures in the area.
King now faces the possibility of life in prison. A sentencing hearing is expected at a later date.
The victim’s family members attended the trial and expressed relief following the verdict, saying they hope the decision brings a measure of justice after nearly two years.
Court records show King remains in custody pending sentencing.
