A violence awareness rally is being held at the state capitol Tuesday.

The goal of "500 Hugs from Heaven" is to help families that have lost loved ones.

The event is being organized by Nonnie Hawkins and her grandson Emmanuel.

Emmanuel was bo while his mother Tara was on life support following a 2003 attack.

She died just days after the birth.

The rally runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
