Police: Attempted Rapist Cuts Woman’s Hair

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - Gwinnett police are looking for a man accused of trying to rape a woman and cutting her hair.

The victim left her home at about 1 p.m. Dec. 13 to walk her dog, Gwinnett police Cpl. Jake Smith said. She said during the walk, an unknown man snuck up on her and held a knife to her ribs, Smith said.

The man took the woman back to her house and into her bedroom, Smith said. He said the man forced her to sit in a chair while he cut off all of her hair with a pair of scissors.

The attacker then tried to tear off the victim’s shirt and she fought back, Smith said. Smith said the victim’s dog bit the man, and she was able to run to a neighbor’s house to call police.

When officers arrived, the man had fled the scene, Smith said. Police have released a sketch of the man. Anyone with information is asked to contact Gwinnett police at 770-513-5000.
