AUSTELL, Ga. -- A woman who disappeared after giving birth at an Austell motel was kidnapped by her midwife and an unidentified man, Cobb County police said. They said the woman and her baby girl were found safe Monday moing.

Police suspected Holly Parker-Heard and her newbo were endangered because they didn't believe either one had been treated since the birth. They have since been taken to an area hospital.

Parker-Heard was last seen at the Austell Inn and Suites just across the freeway from Six Flags. Channel 2’s Tony Thomas found out the mother and baby stayed in a first-floor room. Several guests at the motel thought they might have seen the 27-year-old around the motel on Saturday.

”I believe I saw her going to the drink machine on the bottom floor yesterday, one guest said.

But no one Thomas spoke to noticed anything unusual until Cobb County police arrived later in the day.

Police said Parker-Heard sent a picture of the baby to her mother shortly after the birth, but then she and her baby disappeared.

”It's real sad because you've got an innocent baby. It's sad. And if they don’t know, she needs to get medical attention. She needs to get that baby seen, a motel guest told Thomas.

Adding to the mystery, Cobb County police said Parker-Heard was not alone at the motel but didn’t initially know who she was with.

The midwife was later taken into custody. Police said they were searching for the man.
