Police ID UGA student found dead in dorm room as David Braun
The University of Georgia Police Department has identified the student found dead inside a dorm room as 21-year-old David Peacock Braun.
Police Chief Jimmy Williamson told reporters the police department got a call from housing officials about the welfare of a student.
Officers found the body of a male student inside a locked dorm room in Vandiver Hall around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Wednesday moing, police identified the student as Braun, of Marietta.
Police said preliminary reports do not indicate foul play and there is nothing to indicate a threat or safety conce at the university.
GBI investigators will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
