Police: Gwinnett Man Sergio Martinez Killed By Celebratory Gunfire
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- A Gwinnett County man was killed by celebratory gunfire, just as his family enjoyed a neighbor's fireworks display.
Officers said they were called to a home on Worchester Place in Norcross just after midnight Saturday to find a man lying dead on the kitchen floor from a gunshot wound.
Gwinnett County police told GA Daily News reporter Manuel Bojorquez that they have interviewed two people of interest and detectives are in the process of determining, what charges, if any, should be filed.
Police identified the victim as Sergio Martinez, 34.
Martinez's niece, Marlen Martinez, shows where a bullet came in the house. She says two bullets came in.
The victim's family told Bojorquez that they were looking at a neighbor's fireworks display just before the shooting happened.
