Police Conduct Traffic Safety Checks
ATLANTA - A series of multi-agency traffic safety checks are underway Wednesday at several checkpoints in south Fulton County, says the Georgia State Patrol.
The Georgia State Patrol says its troopers and officers with the DPS Motor Carrier Compliance Division will be joined by deputies from the Fulton County Sheriff's Office as well as local police officers for several safety checkpoints in the vicinity of Roosevelt Highway and Welcome All Road.
Law enforcement will checking for a wide range of traffic violations including impaired drivers, drivers with a suspended license, drivers without insurance, equipment violations, expired tags, and stolen vehicles, says the GSP.
The location of the safety checks are Roosevelt north of Mallory, Roosevelt south of Feldwood,
Feldwood at Stacks (Fulton County Schools Police), Mallory at Stacks, South Fulton Parkway at Majestic Mason/Hunter Road, east of South Fulton Parkway and Georgia 92 and Georgia 138, say police.
Also, commercial motor vehicle officers will be conducting safety checks on large trucks.
The safety checks are scheduled to end by mid-afteoon on Wednesday.
