Police arrest Jeffery Smith-Hosty in deadly double shooting in Cobb County

Police said Jeffery Smith-Hosty, 20, of Marietta, is being held without bond in connection with a double murder at a Cobb County apartment complex on Pat Mell Road late Wednesday afteoon.

At about 2:45 p.m., officers said they responded to the Cobblestone Apartments after receiving call of shots fired. When they arrived, officers found two males suffering from gunshot wounds inside a blue Honda. Police said one of the victims died at the scene, the other was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The victims have been identified as John Ogundipe, 23, of Smya and Alex White, 22, of Marietta.

Witnesses gave police a good description of the gun man looked like. Smith-Hosty was arrested a few blocks away. He's being held at the County Detention Center and also charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and armed robbery

Police are still trying to determine what led up to the gunfire.
