Police Arrest Carolyn Piksa In Connection With Shooting Of Seattle Man Bill Keller
A woman suspected of shooting and critically wounding a 65-year-old man inside a Seattle parks department building was arrested at her home Friday, hours after fleeing the scene of the shooting. The shooting in north Seattle prompted the city to shut down

Police said a Seattle Parks and Recreation employee shot a man at a Green Lake office Friday afteoon, sparking a search that ended with the suspect’s arrest in Burien.

Before 2 p.m., police responded to a Seattle Parks and Recreation Department office in the 8000 block of Densmore Avenue North after a report of a man needing medical assistance.

Police said updated 911 calls reported the man had been shot.

Medics responded to the scene and found 70-year-old Bill Keller, an executive director of the Associated Recreation Council, with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Crews transported Keller to Harborview Medical Center to be treated for life-threatening injuries.

An official at Harborview Medical Center said Keller was in critical but stable condition.

Police identified 47-year-old Carolyn “Zoom” Piksa as the suspect in the shooting.

After Keller was shot and before officers arrived at the scene, Piksa left the Seattle Parks and Recreation office and went to another facility at North 130th Street and Linden Avenue.

According to police, Piksa brandished a handgun at a woman and left.

Police described Piksa’s vehicle as a blue Chevrolet pickup truck, which was recovered in Burien later in the afteoon.

Around 4:50 p.m., Seattle police found and arrested Piksa in Burien.

After the shooting, the Seattle mayor's office closed all community centers, pools and Seattle parks facilities for the day in response to the shooting.

The shooting remains as an active and ongoing investigation.
