Elon Musk Responds After His Emails With Jeffrey Epstein Surface
Newly released documents from the U.S. Department of Justice have once again brought Elon Musk into the spotlight over previously undisclosed email exchanges with the late financier Jeffrey Epstein.
According to the files, Musk and Epstein corresponded multiple times between 2012 and 2014 — several years after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for soliciting a minor. Although the records do not show any illegal conduct by Musk, they do detail a series of invitations and suggested meetings.
One widely shared exchange from September 2013 shows Epstein reaching out to Musk to see if he would be in New York for the United Nations General Assembly opening and inviting him to a gathering at his home. Musk declined, noting he was busy leading design and engineering work at his companies and preparing a major rocket launch.
Other emails in the cache reveal interactions dating back to 2012, including messages in which Musk asked about the “wildest party” on Epstein’s private Caribbean island and later inquired whether there was a good time during the holidays to visit. Epstein’s messages include invitations to visit his properties in New York, Florida and the Caribbean.
In his response after the emails became public, Musk took to social media to address the exchanges, writing that if he actually wanted to spend his time “partying with young women,” he could easily do so without Epstein’s involvement — and that he chose to focus on rockets and engineering instead.
Musk also said that while some fabricated emails are circulating, the authentic ones can be identified and that he has repeatedly rejected invitations to Epstein’s island. The documents do not show that Musk ever visited the island itself.
The disclosure of these exchanges is part of a much larger release of Epstein-related materials that has drawn scrutiny to numerous wealthy and powerful figures.
