Pitcher gets batboy a tryout with the Dodgers

Hollywood hasn't done the batboy-to-big-league-hero story yet, but Francisco Herrera might give it the chance. On Thursday, the 22-year-old Los Angeles Dodgers batboy will take part in the club's open tryout at spring training in Glendale, Ariz.

Dodgers pitcher Jon Garland was nursing a sore arm by playing catch in the outfield with Herrera last season and was impressed with the junior college shortstop's arm and cooked up the plan. "I'll get you the tryout, but if you make it, I get to repressent you," Garland told Herrera, according to ESPN.com. And if he doesn't make it, he's still pretty good at his old job.
