Georgia State Insurance and Fire Safety Commissioner John Oxendine said Tuesday that an explosion that leveled a home in Calhoun in April was caused by arson.

Oxendine said someone apparently tampered with the gas line into the house.  The explosion leveled one home and damaged 60 others back on April 15.  Eight families were left homeless.

No one is charged at this time, but anyone with information about the explosion is asked to call the arson hotline at 1-800-282-5804.
