The GBI is investigating an officer involved shooting in Douglas County.   Officers say a Douglasville police officer shot a man in the parking lot of a Motel 6 in Lithia Springs.  The incident happened a little after 11 p.m. Saturday night.  The man who was shot was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Officers are not saying what led up to the shooting, but tell us the police officer, driving an unmarked cruiser, forced the man to crash his car.   Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Investigators from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are combing the motel property looking for evidence, but are not commenting on the investigation.
