North Georgia Man John Alvarez Gets More than 20 Years on Drug Charges

A Rossvile man has been sentenced to nearly 22 years in prison on federal narcotics and money laundering charges. 45-year-old John Gregory Alvarez from North Georgia was sentenced in federal court in Atlanta Friday for leading a trafficking organization that distributed the prescription drug Oxycodone. He got 21 years, 10 months in prison, to be followed by six years of supervised release. He pleaded guilty to the charges August 5.
