Police arrested the treasurer of a local charity for allegedly embezzling church funds, according to Cartersville Police Chief Thomas Culpepper. 

Nicole Abeathy,  35, of Emerson, was charged with the theft of approximately $20,492.00 from the Trinity United Methodist Church located at 824 West Avenue in Cartersville. 

Abeathy was the treasurer of an organization called God's Little Sprouts and had allegedly embezzled funds out of an account in the amount of $20,492.00.  

Report says the incidents began in June 2010 and continued through August 2011.

Abeathy was arrested and charged with 55 counts of theft by conversion and taken to the Bartow County Jail where she is awaiting a bond hearing.
