ATLANTA - Authorities say a 28-year-old driver was killed New Year's Day in an accident in downtown Atlanta.

Atlanta Police Officer Kim Jones told the Atlanta Joual-Constitution ( http://bit.ly/s35JqK ) that Terrell George was driving north on a main street when his car veered off the road and down an embankment.

Jones said the vehicle struck an embankment and George, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, died at the scene.
