EF-1 tornado confirmed in Catoosa County

The National Weather Service survey team confirmed an EF1 toado in Catoosa County Monday night with max winds 110 mph.

The estimated time of touchdown was 7:40 p.m. and the track was short lived.

A toado waing was issued at 8:30 p.m. for Catoosa, Whitfield and Walker counties due to rotation that was detected by radar.

The waing expired at 9 p.m.

Very heavy rain, lightning, strong winds and hail moved over Dalton just before 9 p.m.

The waing did not include Metro Atlanta.

According to the Catoosa County officials, there were trees down on homes in the Callaway Garden subdivision, which is located off of Moing Glory Drive in Ringgold.

There were four homes with damage, and families had to relocate, according to county officials.
