National Wear Red Day Coming Feb. 6

ATLANTA - Friday, February 6th is National Wear Red Day which promotes the "Go Red for Women" movement. This effort draws participating companies from all over and is committed to the fight against heart disease in women.

Here is some background information from the American Heart Asscociation: Cardiovascular disease kills a woman every minute: One in three women suffers from cardiovascular disease; It is the leading cause of death among American women.

The Heart Association feels awareness, education and research are keys to making a difference.

The Heart Association hopes red-clad men and women and others at participating companies will donate $5 or more to support research and education programs.

"Go Red for Women" has raised over $140 million in the last five years.
