Columbus Police confirm two arrests have been made in the Jan. 4 triple homicide in Upatoi, GA.

Columbus Police Chief Ricky Boren will be holding a press conference on Jan. 13, at 11 a.m. in the Community Room of the Columbus Public Safety Building at 510 10th St.

Although details are still limited at this time, officials confirm the two suspects are charged with murder and are in jail.

Police say one of the suspects, 17-year-old Jevarceay Tapley, is charged with three counts of murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, burglary, and two counts of theft by motor vehicle. Tapley will be in Recorder's Court Friday at 2p.m.

Officials say the other suspect was sent to the Harris County Jail. They have not released his name at this time.

Additional information will be revealed at Wednesday’s press conference.

On Monday, Jan. 4, Gloria Short, 54, her son 17-year-old Caleb Short, and her 11-year-old granddaughter Gianna Lyndsey were found beaten to death in Gloria's home on the 3000 block of Bentley Drive in the Upatoi. 

Officials say Gloria's husband Robert Short found his family members inside of the home after retuing from work and called 911.

The three were laid to rest on Monday, Jan. 11.
