Murder Warrants Signed In Armored Car Guard Slaying

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- DeKalb County police detectives have signed warrants for murder in the shooting death of armored car guard Gary Castillo, who was gunned down March 15 outside a Kroger supermarket in the Toco Hill neighborhood of DeKalb County.

Ashley Henderson, 27, and Stacy Dooley, 34, were each charged with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in connection with the slaying. A third person, whom police have not identified, is also charged with murder.

The signed warrants came on the same day that police announced the arrest of an armored car company employee in connection with a string of armored car and ATM robberies. Veronica Bullard, 32, was charged with being a party to an armed robbery and is also the sister-in-law of Quentin Booker, who was arrested Wednesday on three counts of armed robbery. Booker is charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to police records, Bullard worked for Dunbar, the largest independent armored car company, according to the company's website, up until the time of her arrest.

Police are on the lookout for Edward Thoton, who they believe is also part of the ring. Police said Thoton was involved in armed robberies at the Mall of Georgia and Buford.

Booker and Dooley were taken into custody on Wednesday in Gwinnett County. Channel 2’s Erica Byfield was at Dooley's Snellville home Wednesday night as police retrieved items in a search.

Dooley and Booker are suspected in eight metro Atlanta armed robberies that began in fall 2010, Gwinnett police Cpl. Edwin Ritter said. The robberies occurred at several locations, including a Kroger store in the Toco Hill neighborhood of DeKalb County where Castillo was shot to death.
