Mother, Son Deaths Were Murder-Suicide
Authorities believe a 79-year-old woman shot and killed her 55-year-old son and then killed herself.
The public information officer for Waer Robins police, Tabitha Pugh, told The Macon Telegraph the victims were identified as Julia Rogers and her son, Jack Rogers.
The mother and son were found dead at their Waer Robins home late Thursday. Police said it appeared that Julia Rogers shot her son once in the head with a handgun and then shot herself in the head.
Pugh said the gun was found at the scene, but officers did not find a suicide note.
The bodies were found by Julia Rogers' granddaughter who came to the house after relatives were unable to reach anyone by phone.
