GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- The mother of three children killed in what Gwinnett County authorities said was a meth lab fire now faces murder charges for their deaths.

But there's another development.

GA Daily News has confirmed she recently gave birth while in custody.

Gwinnett County Jail officials said Neibi Brito was briefly released on Sept. 12 to deliver her child at Gwinnett Medical Center, where she was guarded by deputies.

Brito was pregnant at the time of her arrest in February, when police said a meth lab fire at a home in the Lilbu area killed her three children, ages 4, 3 and 18-months.

"This is perhaps the worst drug-related homicide that I've had to deal with," Gwinnett County District Attoey Danny Porter said.

He asked a grand jury to indict Brito on murder charges.

"These are three children who really are not involved other than living at the home ... who were killed because of the manufacture of methamphetamine," Porter told Channel 2’s Manuel Bojorquez. "It's a terrible case."

Brito is not the only one facing murder and methamphetamine manufacturing charges.

Joseph Alexander Perez was indicted on the same charges from the incident.

Another man, Ivan Gonzalez, faces the same charges also, but he's still on the run, according to investigators.

Jail officials could not confirm who has custody of Brito's newbo.

Brito is said to have relatives in north Georgia.

Attempts to reach her attoey were not successful.
