ATLANTA - A community activist and three others were arrested Wednesday moing during a demonstration outside a Georgia Board of Regents meeting.

The group opposes a recent decision from the board denying illegal immigrants admission to some state colleges and universities.

The controversial measure was enacted last month.

Civil and human rights leader Reverend Markel Hutchins spoke to reporters just before he was taken into custody, saying that "undocumented persons attend Georgia schools from Haiti, South Africa, from South America and other places around the world. This Is not a Hispanic or Latino issue. This is an issue of humanity."

Those taken into custody were arrested after they blocked a portion of busy Washington Street.
