Marietta Man Jose Orellano Arrested For Stabbing Roommate to Death

MARIETTA, Ga. -- A man was arrested on charges of fatally stabbing his roommate, Marietta police said.

Investigators said Jose Ricardo Zelaya Orellano, 35, stabbed his roommate after an argument.

The stabbing happened Monday at the Winridge Apartment Complex in the 400 block of Lake Drive.

When police arrived, they said the 23-year-old victim was inside an apartment with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to Kennestone Hospital, where he later died. Police said Orellano was not dressed appropriately for the weather, and was taken to Kennestone Hospital for exposure to the elements.

Orellano is charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault with the intent to murder and possession of a knife during commission of a felony. Once he has been released from the hospital, he will be taken to the Cobb County Adult Detention Center and held without bond.
