A man has been charged in the 1995 killing of a Cobb County flight attendant.

The Atlanta Joual-Constitution reports that 32-year-old Waseem Daker had been a prime suspect for 14 years in the strangling death of Karmen Smith. Police say Daker was arrested and charged Friday and taken to the Cobb County jail.

Smith lived in the in-law suite of a house owned by Loretta Spencer-Blatz. Daker had been sentenced to consecutive five-year sentences on charges he had stalked Spencer-Blatz for more than a year.

Smith's 5-year-old son was stabbed during the attack but survived.

Jail records show Daker is charged with murder, burglary, aggravated assault and aggravated stalking. It was not immediately clear whether he had a lawyer.
