Lieutenant governor resigns and gets indicted all in one day
South Carolina Lt. Gov. Ken Ard

Another day, another dirty politician ... South Carolina Lt. Gov. Ken Ard has resigned after being indicted on a bunch of ethics charges, to which he pleaded guilty just hours later. Ard reportedly faked campaign contributions and used thousands of dollars in donations for personal use.

South Carolina Attoey General Alan Wilson accused Ard of claiming the fake contributions, some of which were straight-up false claims, while others were made with his own money, which he gave to people to then \"donate\" to his campaign. Ard also allegedly spent campaign donations on football tickets, iPads, a flat-screen TV and video game system. Ard was sentenced to five years' probation and 300 hours of public service.
